where ragamuffin started
I was put on a motorcycle before I could walk or talk. My father would inevitably take all of his newborns for a cruise around the yard on a Honda dirt bike. Only I was the first born.
I got third place in my pre-school’s trike-a-thon and a small taste of podium victory would fuel a decade long lifestyle. I was tempted with the midwest’s finest Italian drive-thru, Fazoli’s if I could ditch my training wheels at age 4.
And from there, I found myself tooling around on our backyard track on my Honda CR50 until I was put on the race track in elementary school.
My life would become summers in our family RV, going track to track, racing with the boys. Between motos, I would help my dad, the real life, MAD MIKE with his trackside shop, PIT PRO and come of age with the wild kids who lived the same high-octane lifestyle I did.
Ragamuffin is a love letter to my childhood. A fast-paced, unorthodox way to find yourself not only as a racer but as a woman. It’s a narrative that borders on documentary, shot at a live motocross park, utilizing all of the motorcycles, memorabilia and set pieces from my past.
